'Savatjes' is a West-Flemish derivation of the French word 'ça va?' which means ‘how are you doing?’. With ‘Savatjes?’, Savat wants to ask people how they are feeling and encourage them to do the same and check-up on other people. But Savatjes goes much further than this ...

'Savatjes' also means 'good'
Let us explain why Savat is Savatjes

for you
Savat’s felt slippers are a high quality product made out of industrial synthetic felt. Synthetic felt is less prone to wear and tear than regular felt. The edges of the cut fabric are also singed by a laser so that also there, the felt is stronger and will not fray over time. All our slippers are stitched by hand and handled with great care.

for the people
Savat wants to have an impact on society. This is why we only produce with social workplaces. We want to give people that have dificulties finding work on the regular labour market, a chance to grow. We do not only produce in a social way, but we also design with a social perspective through positive design.

for the planet
Savat always thinks twice about what goes into a product and what happens at the end of the product’s life. We want to find capital in wasted resources and production impact is minimized by focussing on local production in Belgium. Out of this philosophy, we designed high quality felt slippers out of scrap.
